Curriculum
building
From its inception, the People
and Plants Initiative has sought
to promote training and capacity
building. Field coordinators have
organized numerous courses and
workshops, developing an
effective approach to teaching
methods in applied ethnobotany.
Although we recognize the demand
for curriculum building at
universities, we have been able
to dedicate only minimal
resources to satisfying this
need. In this section of People
and Plants Online, we will
report on our expanding efforts
in curriculum building, in both
formal and informal education.
One of our most recent efforts
in curriculum building was a
course on ethnobotany for fifth
year students of the Department
of Pharmacognosy and
Pharmaceutical Botany of Khon
Kaen University.
